      Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are currently holidaying in the US. The couple is in California's San Jose to celebrate Ranveer's 37th birthday on July 6. Recently, the duo was invited to attend an event organised by Konkani speaking community, videos and pics of which took the internet by storm.

      Deepika was the chief guest at the event and she was accompanied by her husband Ranveer Singh. The 'Simmba' actor made a brief appearance on the stage and impressed his wife as he spoke a few lines in Konkani. He said, 'I'm really happy' in Konkani which was followed by a loud cheer from his ladylove. Towards the end of the NRI convention, he said 'Dev Bare Karu (May God bless you).'

      Deepika, who looked drop-dead gorgeous in her ethnic wear, also shared a few pics on her Instagram under the caption, 'A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots. Thank you #KAOCA and to the people of my community for your love, warmth and blessings…I couldn’t be more proud…'

      DeepVeer were also swamped by a bunch of fans at a Pan-Asian restaurant called 'Benihana'. A picture from the happy moment has gone viral on social media and the netizens are in awe of their simplicity.

      On the work front, Deepika Padukone will be seen in Siddharth Anand's 'Pathaan' co-starring John Abraham and Shah Rukh Khan. She also has 'Fighter' with Hrithik Roshan and 'Project K' with Prabhas.
