    Days after Lalu Prasad Yadav was convicted in a corruption case, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra came out in defence of the former Bihar Chief Minister.

    The Congress leader tweeted that one of the main features of BJP's politics is that whoever refuses to bow before the party is ill-treated in every possible way. Priyanka added that Lalu Yadav is being attacked under this kind of politics, and she hoped that the Rashtriya Janata Dal chief would get justice soon.

    On February 15, Lalu Yadav and 74 others were reportedly pronounced guilty by a CBI court in Ranchi in a case related to the illegal withdrawal of Rs 139 crore from the Doranda treasury. It was the fifth case in the sordid fodder scam saga.

    24 people were acquitted by the court in the case regarding embezzlement of funds meant for cattle fodder in 1995-96 during Yadav's reign as Chief Minister of undivided Bihar. The quantum of punishment would be announced by the court after arguments on February 21.

    The RJD chief has reportedly been convicted in 4 other related cases.
