      Bay leaves commonly called Tej patta are cherished by culinary enthusiasts for their role in enhancing the flavour of stews and various savoury dishes. However, these leaves have many functions beyond just cooking.

      Recently, Maine Pyar Kia actor Bhagyashree shared that burning bay leaves releases a special chemical, called linalool which gives you relief from anxiety, stress and fatigue.

      The aroma of burning leaves may have a calming effect on some individuals due to the pleasant fragrance it emits which can create a soothing environment, while calming you. Lighting and inhaling the smoke, can also have psychological benefits and can relax and lessen stress.

      Bay leaves have also traditionally been used for indigestion and other gastrointestinal complaints, infection, fever, arthritis, and headaches.
