Consequently, the party's note declared that Yatnal was expelled from its primary membership and relieved of all party positions with immediate effect.
Yatnal has previously criticized the BJP for not appointing a Chief Minister from north Karnataka, an area that significantly bolsters the party's legislative strength. Consistent in his dissent, Yatnal reiterated his objection to the leadership structure, particularly concerning Yediyurappa's son.
Reacting to his expulsion, Yatnal made biting remarks about perceived nepotism within the party, implying that positions were being reserved for Yediyurappa's familial successors, including "his sons, grandsons, dogs, and their puppies." He expressed disappointment, interpreting his expulsion as a consequence of his hard work and advocacy.
In a social media post, Yatnal signaled that this disciplinary action would not deter him from "fighting against corruption, family politics, and advocating for the development of North Karnataka."

"This is the US President's language. In fact, it is Mr. Trump who is doing his best to make them irrelevant and now Mr. Modi is repeating 'his good friend's' chant," Ramesh claimed.

The former Congress chief said the future of 85 lakh children in six states is at risk as paper leak has become the most dangerous "padmavyuh" for our youth.
"Paper leaks put hardworking students and their families into uncertainty and stress, taking away the fruits of their hard work. It also sends the wrong message to the next generation that dishonesty can be better than hard work, which is completely unacceptable," he said in a post in Hindi on X.
"It has not even been a year since the NEET paper leak shook the country.After our protest, the Modi government hid behind a new law and called it a solution, but so many recent leaks have proven that to be a failure as well," he said.
This serious problem is a systematic failure, Gandhi asserted.
It will be eradicated only when all political parties and governments forget their differences and take strict steps together, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha said.
"The dignity of these exams is the right of our children and it has to be protected at all costs," Gandhi asserted.
Using the 'chakravyuh' metaphor as a leitmotif, Gandhi had last year claimed that an atmosphere of fear prevails all around with a group of six trapping the entire country in a 'chakravyuh' he promised would be broken by the INDIA bloc.
Chakravyuh' refers to a multi-layered military formation aimed at trapping a warrior by opponents placed strategically in an alignment resembling a lotus-shaped labyrinth.
Gandhi had said the 'chakravyuh' is also called a 'padmavyuh' for its resemblance to a lotus (BJP's election symbol) formation.

Voting took place on March 2 in Faridabad, Hisar, Rohtak, Karnal, Yamunanagar, as well as Gurugram and Manesar, with by-elections for Ambala and Sonipat's mayoral posts occurring the same day.
Panipat residents cast their votes on March 9. Elections for 21 municipal committees were held concurrently.
A notable decline in voter participation was observed, with turnout at a mere 41%, marking a record low in comparison to the 68% witnessed during the Assembly elections.
Additionally, 26 ward members were elected unopposed, including Kuldeep Singh (Faridabad), Vikas Yadav (Gurugram), Sankalp Bhandari and Sanjeev Kumar Mehta (Karnal), and Bhavna (Yamunanagar).

The BJP MLAs later staged a walkout in protest against the "biased approach" of the Speaker.
The developments began when BJP MLA Hiran Chatterjee, during the discussion on the budget, raised concerns about the functioning of the West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC).
He questioned why the commission had not received a single public complaint since 2011 when the Trinamool Congress government came to power in the state.
Mr Chatterjee further alleged that the commission did not have the statutory authority to handle complaints, citing a recent note from the chief secretary to the chief minister.
He wondered about the relevance of the commission in such circumstances.
As the BJP legislator continued, Speaker Bandopadhyay reminded him that his comments were unrelated to the budget debate and asked him to stop.
Mr Chatterjee, however, insisted on his right to speak on behalf of the people, leading to a heated exchange of words between the two.
The Speaker reminded him of his authority and attempted to restrict his speech, but as Mr Chatterjee continued speaking, Bandopadhyay switched off his microphone, triggering an outcry from BJP MLAs who accused him of suppressing opposition voices.
The Speaker then ordered the expunging of Mr Chatterjee's comments, stating that they violated the legislative decorum.
In response, BJP MLAs Shankar Ghosh and Manoj Oraon began shouting slogans.
Despite repeated warnings from the Speaker, they continued their protest, which led to marshalls being called to remove them from the House.
As the disruption continued, BJP MLAs, led by Chief Whip Shankar Ghosh, tore up and threw papers in the House in protest.
In response, Speaker Bandopadhyay announced the suspension of MLA Dipak Barman for the remainder of the session.
The entire BJP contingent then staged a walkout in protest against what they called the "biased" actions of the Speaker.
Later, Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari condemned the Speaker's actions, accusing him of "goondaism" and charging the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) with stifling dissent.
Adhikari claimed the marshals had acted under the influence of the TMC.
In contrast, TMC legislators defended the Speaker's decision, stating that the BJP was trying to disrupt the legislative proceedings.
They argued that the Speaker's actions were necessary to maintain order and discipline in the House.
TMC lawmaker Chandrima Bhattacharya, while responding later, criticized the BJP for raising questions about the effectiveness of state welfare schemes like Kanyashree and the budget allocation but leaving the House when the minister rose to respond.
She accused the BJP of trying to create unnecessary disruptions rather than engage in constructive dialogue.
The session concluded with the BJP lawmakers walking out, leaving the Speaker to declare that the behaviour of the opposition party was unbecoming of a democratic institution.

Calling the move "unprecedented," Atishi questioned the Speaker&rsquo;s decision to bar elected representatives from entering the Assembly complex.&nbsp;
"They are saying that the Speaker has ordered that your MLA should be stopped at the gate of Delhi Vidhan Sabha. They have been removed for a three-day sitting as per the orders. She further criticized the deployment of police to enforce the restriction. "If an MLA is suspended, their entry into the House is restricted. However, stopping them 50 meters away from the gate using police barricades is unheard of in the history of any legislative body in the country," she remarked. Despite the suspension, she asserted that AAP would continue to fight back.
Meanwhile, BJP leaders defended the Speaker&rsquo;s decision. BJP MLA Satish Upadhyay stated, "The House will run by law. If they (the opposition) create ruckus and anarchy there (in the House), then the Speaker will take a decision. The decision taken by the Speaker is final." MLA Ravindra Singh Negi accused AAP of disregarding constitutional norms, saying, "You (opposition) are roaming around with the picture of Baba Saheb Ambedkar, but you should follow the Constitution as told by him... Delhi Minister Parvesh Verma also criticized AAP MLAs, stating, "They (AAP) MLAs cannot raise slogans when the LG is addressing the House. If they break the laws like this, it is not good."

She cited examples from other legislative bodies to argue against the move. "If you see Delhi Legislative Assembly, Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly, elected legislators are never stopped. Even when suspended in Parliament, an elected parliamentarian is never stopped. Therefore, protests often take place in Parliament even after being suspended under the Gandhi statue. Often even in the Delhi Legislative Assembly, when the Bharatiya Janata Party was in opposition, they used to protest under the statue of Gandhi ji under the statue of Ambedkar."
Reaffirming her stance, she added, "We are suspended from the House. Being suspended from the House does not mean that we are suspended from the Assembly premises. We are elected legislators. We have the right to go to the Assembly premises. How are we being prevented from going to the Assembly premises?"
The situation remains tense as AAP continues to protest against the suspension and entry restrictions, accusing the BJP-led government of undermining democratic principles.

Dismissing Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin's claim that the state was denied central funds, Shah countered, "There is no truth in MK Stalin's statement. The Modi government has given Rs 5 lakh crore to Tamil Nadu in the last five years."&nbsp;
He further said that a comparison between funds allocated under the UPA and NDA governments proves that Tamil Nadu faced actual injustice during the UPA regime.
Taking a dig at DMK, Shah remarked, "Sometimes it feels as if DMK has let all the corrupts in the society join DMK through a membership drive. In these roles, she spearheaded multiple initiatives for the upliftment of marginalized communities and women.
Her political journey began with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), a student organization affiliated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). A graduate of Delhi University&rsquo;s Daulat Ram College, she served as the President of the Delhi University Students&rsquo; Union (DUSU) in 1996-97, actively voicing student concerns.&nbsp;

The BJP on Monday requested Lt Governor VK Saxena to cancel the merger of four properties with the "Sheesh Mahal" (6, Flagstaff Road) that was used by the party as a political weapon to target AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal over corruption issues during recent Assembly polls.&nbsp;
Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva said that the bungalow was expanded by merging four government properties and he has written to the Lt Governor VK Saxena for cancelling the amalgamation of those properties.
He said that the new government to be formed by the party will take a call regarding future use of the bungalow and added "The next Chief Minister of Delhi will not stay in it."&nbsp;
The reconstructed bungalow was the official residence of Arvind Kejriwal as Delhi Chief Minister from 2015 till October 2024 when he vacated it after resigning from the post under fire from the BJP over corruption charges.
Newly elected BJP MLA from Rohini, Vijendra Gupta, who was Leader of Opposition in the 7th Delhi Assembly dissolved last week, said that the Chief Minister of BJP will not live in the bungalow as it was under investigation over alleged irregularities.&nbsp;
Gupta said that the land of the demerged properties and used the land for other official purposes like the construction of government quarters.&nbsp;
The BJP for more than two years, more so during the Assembly election campaign, hit hard at Kejriwal levelling allegations of corruption including irregularities in the reconstruction of the bungalow and lavish interiors, high-end domestic goods and fixtures there.&nbsp;
Kejriwal transformed the bungalow into "an ultra-luxurious 'Sheesh Mahal' by "illegally annexing" neighbouring government properties, Gupta wrote to the LG.&nbsp;
"The scope of these unauthorized alterations is particularly concerning. What was meant to be a standard official residence has been transformed into a lavish complex spanning more than 50,000 square meters," he charged in the letter.&nbsp;
He said that the merged properties included eight Type-V flats at 45 and 47 Rajpur Road, and the two government bungalows (8-A and 8-B Flag Staff Road) with the 6, Flagstaff road bungalow.&nbsp;
"I urgently request your intervention to restore these properties to their original independent status and return 6-lag Staff Road to its previous area of less than 10,000 square meters," he said.&nbsp;
Gupta also requested the LG to expedite the ongoing investigation into these alleged violations, saying swift action is crucial for ensuring accountability and restoring public trust in government institutions.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday hailed the people of Delhi for putting an end to the "lies and deception" politics of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) by giving a clear mandate to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Assembly elections.
He said that people have put an end to "short-cut" politics of Kejriwal and removed a "major obstacle" in the way of Delhi's development.

"Delhi's mandate also clarified that there is no place for shortcuts or lies and deception in politics. Janata ne short cut rajneeti ka short circuit kar diya (People have short-circuited the politics of shortcut)," PM Modi said while addressing a gathering at the party's headquarters after the resounding victory in assembly polls.
<h3>BJP's Return to Power</h3>
BJP has won 48 seats, while AAP has won just 22 seats against 62 in the 2020 assembly polls.
The BJP is returning to power in the national capital after 27 years, ending over 10 years of Aam Aadmi Party rule.
Several AAP leaders, including former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, ex-Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, and three-time MLA Somnath Bharti, lost from their strongholds.
<h3>Criticism of AAP's Politics</h3>
The PM slammed the AAP's politics of "protests, confrontation, and administrative uncertainty."
"Today, you Delhiites have removed a major obstacle in the way of Delhi's development," PM Modi added
. Lashing out at AAP, he said, "The real owner of Delhi is only the people of Delhi. Those who thought of being the owners of Delhi have been confronted with the truth."
<h3>PM Modi on Anna Hazare</h3>
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Anna Hazare must have got some relief from pain following AAP's defeat in the Delhi Assembly election. He added that Hazare had been "bearing the pain of the misdeeds of these people for a long time."
Earlier in the day, Anna Hazare had criticised AAP for their alleged involvement in controversies surrounding liquor and money.
PM Modi said AAP was born out of the movement against corruption but became deeply involved in it.
"The party born out of the movement against corruption got involved in corruption. It became such a party of the country whose Chief Minister and Ministers went to jail on corruption charges. Those who used to give themselves certificates of honesty turned out to be corrupt. This was a big betrayal with Delhi," PM Modi said.

PM Modi further attacked AAP, stating that the liquor scam had defamed Delhi. "The scams in schools and hospitals troubled the poorest of the poor, and on top of that, their arrogance was so much that when the world was dealing with Corona, these people were building 'Sheesh Mahal'."
Earlier, Anna Hazare had said that AAP did not understand the importance of character in politics, which led to their downfall.

"These AAP-da people resorted to conspiracies every day to hide their scams. Now, the Delhi poll verdict has come. I am giving a guarantee that in the first session of the assembly, the CAG report will be tabled. Every link of corruption will be probed, and whoever has looted will have to return it," he said.
Targeting AAP leaders, including former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, PM Modi said that those who gave certificates to others are now facing allegations of corruption.
The BJP has also been taking "Sheeshmahal" jibes at Kejriwal. In his speech, PM Modi thanked the people of Delhi for their support and reiterated their relief at making the national capital "AAP-da free."
<h3>BJP's Future Commitments</h3>
Meanwhile, BJP leader Parvesh Verma said that the Bharatiya Janata Party will work to fulfill its commitments to the people of Delhi, with setting up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe corruption under the Aam Aadmi Party government among its top priorities.

"At one point in time, the law and order problem remained in Uttar Pradesh. The major challenge was for women. Dimaagi bukhaar (encephalitis) wreaked havoc. However, we worked with determination to resolve it," PM Modi said.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured a decisive victory in the Milkipur Assembly bypoll, marking a significant political win.
BJP candidate Chandrabhanu Paswan triumphed over Samajwadi Party's (SP) Ajit Prasad by an overwhelming margin of 61,710 votes.
The bypoll was necessitated after former MLA Awadhesh Prasad vacated the seat following his victory in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from Faizabad, which includes the Ayodhya assembly segment.
Despite its historic connection to the region, the BJP had lost Faizabad within just five months of the consecration of the Ram Temple.&nbsp;
In the bypoll, SP fielded Prasad&rsquo;s son as its candidate, but he managed only 84,687 votes&mdash;falling short by over 60,000 votes compared to Paswan, who secured 1,46,397 votes.
Following BJP&rsquo;s landslide victory, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took aim at the Samajwadi Party, asserting that the election result signaled the end of dynastic politics and misinformation.

"The results of Milkipur by-elections will put a full stop to the politics of 'pariwarwad' and lies...The people have made it clear that no matter how much propaganda is done by the Samajwadi Party, the public is going to punish them," CM Yogi stated.
On the other hand, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav accused the BJP of manipulating the electoral process to secure the win.
"BJP cannot face the growing power of PDA on the basis of votes, that is why it tries to win by misusing the electoral machinery. The level of manipulation of officials required to carry out such electoral fraud may be possible in one assembly constituency, but this 'four hundred BC' will not work in 403 assemblies. BJP members also know this, that is why BJP members postponed the by-election of Milkipur. PDA means 90% of the people have seen this fraud with their own eyes," Yadav wrote on X.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured a historic victory in the Delhi Assembly elections on Saturday, reclaiming power in the national capital after 27 years.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) faced a major defeat, with several key leaders, including former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, losing in their strongholds.
This win further strengthens the BJP&rsquo;s hold on national politics, following its recent electoral successes in Maharashtra and Haryana.
The Congress, which had hoped for a revival in Delhi, failed to secure a single seat once again, marking its third consecutive zero tally in the assembly elections. The party had previously ruled Delhi for 15 years, from 1998 to 2013.
BJP won 48 out of 70 seats, while AAP secured 22 seats.

Among the prominent AAP leaders who lost the elections were former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Delhi Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj, former ministers Somnath Bharti and Satyendra Jain, as well as party leaders Awadh Ojha and Durgesh Pathak.
Chief Minister Atishi, however, secured a win from the Kalkaji constituency.

"We have done a lot of work in the field of health, education, and infrastructure over the last 10 years. The election results largely aligned with exit poll predictions, which had indicated a BJP victory.
In the New Delhi constituency, BJP&rsquo;s Parvesh Verma defeated Kejriwal by over 4,000 votes. Congress candidate Sandeep Dikshit received 4,568 votes. Atishi won from Kalkaji, defeating BJP&rsquo;s Ramesh Bidhuri by over 3,500 votes, while Congress&rsquo;s Alka Lamba secured 4,392 votes.

Sisodia lost in Jangpura to BJP&rsquo;s Tarvinder Singh Marwah by a narrow margin of 675 votes. Conceding defeat, he expressed hope that the winning candidate would serve the constituency well.
Among other winners, Gopal Rai secured the Babarpur seat, defeating BJP&rsquo;s Anil Kumar Vashisht by 18,994 votes. Kailash Gahlot, who had switched from AAP to BJP before the elections, won from Bijwasan, defeating AAP&rsquo;s Surender Bhardwaj.
Several BJP leaders also emerged victorious, including Vijender Gupta from Rohini, Kapil Mishra from Karawal Nagar, and Ravinder Singh Negi from Patparganj.

Her remarks were seen as a reference to the assault allegations she made against Kejriwal&rsquo;s personal aide, Bibhav Kumar.
AAP had previously dominated the last two Delhi Assembly elections, securing 62 out of 70 seats in 2020 and 67 seats in 2015.

BJP secures a decisive win in the Delhi Assembly elections, marking its return to power after 27 years. Leaders credit PM Modi's leadership and Amit Shah's strategic planning for the success, while AAP faces a major setback.

Senior BJP leaders, Union ministers, and NDA allies on Saturday hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi&rsquo;s leadership and Home Minister Amit Shah&rsquo;s strategic planning for the BJP&rsquo;s decisive victory in the Delhi Assembly elections.
Leaders from the BJP and allied parties, including the NCP, Shiv Sena, and Lok Janshakti Party (RV), credited Shah for formulating "accurate" poll strategies that helped the saffron party reclaim power in Delhi after more than 26 years.
With the BJP securing a commanding win on 48 out of 70 seats, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) saw a significant decline, managing only 22 seats. Congress, meanwhile, yet again failed to open its account.
BJP had last held power in Delhi in 1998 before being ousted by the Congress, which governed the capital for three consecutive terms.
Allies of the BJP stated that the Delhi electorate had rejected the Congress, which had previously questioned the electoral process and claimed the Constitution was under threat.

"The voters have once again handed the Congress, which falsely claimed that the Constitution and elections are all in crisis, a complete defeat. Their lie has been defeated, and the voters have fully supported the truth," said Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh called the victory a reflection of the people's trust in Modi&rsquo;s leadership and BJP&rsquo;s policies.

"BJP&rsquo;s landslide victory in Delhi is a victory of faith in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the policies of the BJP," Singh said.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari echoed similar sentiments, stating that the result validated the government's focus on development and governance.

Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan criticized AAP, stating that Delhi voters had rejected its "politics of lies and theatrics."

"Farmers in the national capital were tired of the 'AAP-da' government. Now the farmers will benefit from the policies of the Central government," Chouhan said.
The BJP had deployed several chief ministers and senior leaders across the country to campaign for the elections.
Chief Ministers Yogi Adityanath (Uttar Pradesh), Devendra Fadnavis (Maharashtra), Mohan Yadav (Madhya Pradesh), Nayab Singh Saini (Haryana), Pushkar Singh Dhami (Uttarakhand), Pramod Sawant (Goa), and Bhajanlal Sharma (Rajasthan) were actively engaged in election rallies, public meetings, and roadshows.
Key NDA partners, including Eknath Shinde (Shiv Sena), Ajit Pawar (NCP), K Rammohan Naidu (TDP), and Chirag Paswan (LJSP-RV), praised Modi&rsquo;s leadership and Shah&rsquo;s election strategy.
"BJP got this success due to the trust in Narendra Modi's leadership and the accurate management of Amit Shah," said NCP leader and Rajya Sabha member Sunetra Pawar.
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar congratulated Modi, Shah, and BJP President J.P. Nadda for the party&rsquo;s impressive performance in Delhi.
"Modi ji&rsquo;s guarantees have worked wonders in Delhi... After Maharashtra, the voters of Delhi have expressed faith in the leadership of Modi. The victory run of the BJP continues," Shinde stated, adding that voters had avoided a "disaster" and taught the Congress a lesson for making false claims about the Constitution being in danger.
JD(U) national spokesperson Rajeev Ranjan Prasad said that Delhiites had fully rejected AAP&rsquo;s governance, paving the way for better administration.
"Good days are coming for the people of Delhi as the same party ruling the Centre and the city will bring them a lot of benefits," Prasad noted.
Union Minister and TDP leader K Rammohan Naidu said the massive mandate reflected the public&rsquo;s confidence in a government that delivers on its commitments.
"With a double-engine Sarkar in state and Centre, the capital region is set to soar to new heights of prosperity and growth. Together, the NDA government will fulfill the aspirations of every Delhiite and build a stronger, brighter future for our great city," Naidu said.
