BCCI president Sourav Ganguly broke his silence on the speculation of his exit from the Indian board and made it clear that his tenure as the chief will end soon.
During an event, Dada said, "I was the president of CAB for five years. I have been the president of BCCI for three years. I will go on to do something else now. 15 years of my cricketing career were the best. All these have terms after which you have to leave and go. The challenge as a cricketer is a lot more. As an administrator, you have to contribute so much. You have to make things better for the team. Me being a player, who played for a long period of time, understood that. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Establish the brand across the world."

Roger Binny is all set to replace Ganguly as the new BCCI president soon and reportedly, Dada refused to accept the post of becoming the new IPL chairman.

Women’s Twenty20 cricket in India is expected to break the glass ceiling as the much-awaited inaugural edition of the women’s Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to start early next year.
BCCI president Sourav Ganguly announced the decision in an email to state associations stating the board’s ambitious plans to introduce the T20 tournament for women’s cricket.
"The BCCI is currently working on the much-awaited women's IPL. We are expecting to start the first season early next year. More details will follow in due course," Ganguly wrote in his email. The Board has already earmarked the February-March window for next year’s WIPL and a formal go-ahead is expected after the Annual General Meeting next month.
Alongside the Women's IPL, the board also plans to introduce an Under-15 tournament for girls that would help develop their skills at the grassroot level. "We are glad to introduce a girls' U-15 tournament from this season. Women's cricket has seen phenomenal growth across the world, and our national team has been performing well. This new tournament will create a pathway for our girls to play at the international level," Ganguly wrote.

The ICC on Tuesday announced several changes to its playing conditions which come into effect from October 1. Interestingly, T20 World Cup 2022 will be played according these new rules.
NO MANKAD
According to the new rules Mankad would no longer be considered as unfair play but it would be called a ‘Run-Out’. 'Mankading' was often seen as an unfair method of running out the non-striker and many bowlers opted against it. However, it has now been moved from the 'Unfair Play' section to the 'run out' section.
BAN ON SALIVA
The saliva ban that was implemented for the past two years due to covid-19 as a precaution has now been made permanent. As a result, players would not be allowed to use saliva to shine the ball.
BATTER RETURNING WHEN CAUGHT
If a batter is out caught, the new batter coming in will take the strike. Earlier, if the batter and the non-striker crossed before the catch was taken, then the non-striker would face the next ball and the the new player coming in.

Apart from these 3 new rules, a number of other changes would also come into effect. If a bowler throws the ball at the striker’s end in an attempt of run-out before delivery, it will be considered as a dead ball. 
If the fielding side takes any unfair movement while the bowler is running to bowl, umpire could award the batting side 5 penalty runs and even declare the delivery as dead ball.
The new coming batter need to get ready to face the ball within two minutes of him reaching the pitch. The 90 seconds rule for T20 cricket stays in act.

BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has tested positive for the delta plus variant of Covid-19 and remains in isolation after being discharged from the hospital. 
It was earlier reported that Ganguly was discharged after testing negative for the omicron variant of the deadly virus. The hospital confirmed that Ganguly received "Monoclonal Antibody Cocktail" therapy on Monday night itself and is currently "hemodynamically stable". He has mild symptoms and is kept under close watch.
