'Chandu Champion' X review: Netizens in awe of Kartik's earnest performance, laud Kabir Khan's narration

Kartik Aaryan has become every director's favourite muse, thanks to his impressive box office record, standing tall in the league of superstars. Boasting superhits like 'Pyar Ka Panchnama' film series, 'Satyaprem Ki Katha', and 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2' in his impressive resume, the actor is back with Kabir Khan's 'Chandu Champion'. The film was released in theatres on June 14. Netizens and critics who watched the first-day show of the sports film have now taken to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share their reviews, and by the looks of it, it appears that another smash hit is on the way for Kartik.

A netizen took to the micro-blogging site to laud Kartik's latest release, calling it the actor's career-best performance. Showering praise on Kabir Khan, the internet user hailed the filmmaker's narration and underlined how he managed to keep the emotions alive till the end.

"Kartik Aaryan's incredible body transformation from 39% to 7% body fat is exceptional. From being a pehelwan to a boxer in the Indian army to a para swimmer, he has been OUTSTANDING throughout. #KartikAaryan brings out Murlikant Petkar's frustration, helplessness, grit, determination, and resilience brilliantly," the netizen added.

Another X user highlighted that while the film does suffer due to poor screenplay and predictability, it deserves applause for earnest performances from Kartik Aaryan and Vijay Raaz.

In an exclusive interview with News18 Showsha, Kartik's trainer revealed that he started a 'program-based workout' with Kartik in 2022 for ‘Chandu Champion.’ The trainer expressed his shock at Kartik's physical condition, saying, ‘In the beginning, I gave him some basic movements like squats, pull-ups, and push-ups, and he couldn’t do any of it! I knew that he had gained weight for Freddy but the fact that he couldn’t pull off even these basic movements really shocked me.’
