The arrest of Ravi Atri, accused of orchestrating the NEET-UG 2024 exam paper leak, has sparked concerns about the fairness of one of India's toughest medical entrance exams.

Atri, from Neemka village in Greater Noida, was apprehended by the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) amidst nationwide protests from students demanding a thorough investigation into the alleged leak.

The NEET-UG 2024 exam, held on May 5, drew attention when an unusually high number of 67 students achieved a perfect score of 720. Initially, the National Testing Agency (NTA) attributed this to grace marks given due to a faulty question and logistical delays in some exam centers. However, an investigation by Bihar police revealed a leaked exam paper, triggering widespread outrage and demands for accountability.

Ravi Atri is not new to such controversies, having a history of involvement in similar incidents across various states. His alleged modus operandi involved circulating solved question papers through a network known as the 'solver gang,' using social media platforms.

Atri's arrest follows years of suspicion surrounding his activities. He first gained notoriety in 2012 when he was arrested by the Delhi Police Crime Branch for his suspected role in leaking medical entrance exam papers. Since then, he has reportedly continued his involvement in such illegal activities.
