      Days after leading industrialist Cyrus Mistry died in a car crash in Maharashtra, luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz submitted a report to police.

      In the interim report, Mercedes-Benz said that the car was being driven at a speed of 100 km/h a few seconds before the crash, and at the time of the collision, the car was running at 89 km/h The car's brakes were applied 5 seconds before the accident, the report said.

      A team of Mercedes-Benz experts from Hong Kong will also visit Mumbai on 12 September to inspect the car, and submit a final report.

      The Regional Transport Office's (RTO) report said that four air bags had been activated in the crash - three at the driver's seat and one at the adjoining seat.

      On 4 September 2022, a Mercedes vehicle carrying Cyrus Mistry and 3 others had hit a road divider on Surya river bridge in Palghar, Maharashtra. Cyrus Mistry and his friend Jahangir Pandole died in the crash, while the driver, Dr Anahita Pandole and her husband Darius Pandole were injured.
