The Sensex jumped nearly 900 points and the Nifty rallied over 272 points on Friday, bouncing back from the previous day's fall, following a positive trend in global equities and fresh foreign fund inflows.
The BSE Sensex rallied 899.62 points or 1.53 per cent to end at 59,808.97 after starting the trade on a positive note. During the day, it jumped 1,057.69 points or 1.79 per cent to 59,967.04.
The NSE Nifty advanced 272.45 points or 1.57 per cent to settle at 17,594.35.
From the Sensex pack, State Bank of India, Bharti Airtel, Reliance Industries, ITC, Tata Steel, IndusInd Bank, HDFC Bank, Tata Motors, HDFC and Titan were the major gainers.
Tech Mahindra, UltraTech Cement, Nestle and Asian Paints were the laggards.
In Asian markets, Seoul, Japan, China and Hong Kong ended in the green.

Market benchmarks ended nearly 1 per cent lower on Thursday amid weak trend in global equities and continuous foreign fund outflows.
The BSE Sensex tumbled 501.73 points or 0.84 per cent to settle at 58,909.35. During the day, it tanked 544.82 points or 0.91 per cent to 58,866.26.
The NSE Nifty declined 129 points or 0.74 per cent to end at 17,321.90.
"Nifty continued its downmove today after a one day rise, pulled down by weak Asian cues," said Deepak Jasani, Head of Retail Research, HDFC Securities.
From the Sensex pack, Maruti, Axis Bank, Tata Consultancy Services, Nestle, Infosys, Mahindra &amp; Mahindra, Tech Mahindra and Bharti Airtel were the major laggards.
Power Grid, Sun Pharma, HCL Technologies, Larsen &amp; Toubro and UltraTech Cement were the gainers.
In the broader market, the smallcap gauge declined 0.22 per cent and midcap dipped 0.13 per cent.
Among the sectoral indices, teck declined 1.33 per cent, IT fell by 1.24 per cent, bankex (0.87 per cent), auto (0.85 per cent), financial services (0.73 per cent) and consumer durables (0.59 per cent).

Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty continued their slide for the eighth straight day on Tuesday due to selling in oil &amp; gas, pharma and banking stocks amid worries over further interest rate hikes.
Mixed global cues, selling by FIIs and caution by investors ahead of the release of key macroeconomic data also dented the market sentiment.
Paring its early gains, the BSE Sensex declined by 326.23 points or 0.55 per cent to settle at a four-month low of 58,962.12. During the day, it dropped 492.38 points or 0.83 per cent to 58,795.97.
The NSE Nifty dipped 88.75 points or 0.51 per cent to end at more than four-month low of 17,303.95 as 33 of its stocks declined.

Equity benchmark indices buckled under selling pressure for the fifth straight session on Thursday as a bearish trend in Asian markets and concerns over rate hikes by the US Federal Reserve unnerved investors.
Besides, fresh foreign fund outflows also hit investor sentiments, traders said.
In a highly volatile trade amid monthly derivatives expiry, the BSE Sensex declined 139.18 points or 0.23 per cent to settle at 59,605.80. During the day, it hit a high of 59,960.04 and a low of 59,406.31.
The NSE Nifty slipped 43.05 points or 0.25 per cent to end at 17,511.25.
In the Sensex pack, Asian Paints, Larsen &amp; Toubro, Titan, IndusInd Bank, Bharti Airtel, Power Grid, Bajaj Finserv, Infosys, HDFC Bank and HDFC were the major laggards.
On the other hand, Axis Bank, Tata Motors, ITC, State Bank of India, Tata Steel and Sun Pharma were among the gainers.

Falling for the fourth day in a row, the BSE Sensex tumbled 927.74 points or 1.53 per cent to settle at 59,744.98, the lowest closing level since February 1. During the day, it tanked 991.17 points or 1.63 per cent to 59,681.55.
The 50-issue NSE Nifty declined 272.40 points or 1.53 per cent to end at a four-month low of 17,554.30 with 47 of its constituents ending in the red.
From the Sensex pack, Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, Reliance Industries, Wipro, HDFC Bank, HDFC, ICICI Bank and Tata Steel were the major laggards.
ITC was the lone winner in the Sensex pack.

Rallying for the fifth day in a row, the 30-share BSE Sensex climbed 211.16 points or 0.34 per cent to settle at 62,504.80, its fresh record closing high. During the day, it jumped 407.76 points or 0.65 per cent to its lifetime intra-day peak of 62,701.40.
The broader NSE Nifty gained 50 points or 0.27 per cent to end at 18,562.75, its record closing high.
Among the Sensex pack, Reliance Industries jumped the most by 3.48 per cent, followed by Nestle, Asian Paints, Bajaj Finserv, Wipro, ICICI Bank and IndusInd Bank.
Tata Steel, HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, HDFC and Mahindra &amp; Mahindra were among the laggards.
Elsewhere in Asia, markets in Seoul, Tokyo, Shanghai and Hong Kong ended lower.
Equity exchanges in Europe were trading in the negative territory in the afternoon trade. Wall Street had ended mostly lower on Friday.
International oil benchmark Brent crude was trading 3.11 per cent lower at USD 81.03 per barrel.

Equity benchmarks Sensex and Nifty on Friday spurted by nearly 2 per cent, propelled by heavy buying in IT, metal and financial stocks amid a rally in global markets after lower-than-expected US inflation data.
A strong rupee against the US dollar and unabated foreign capital inflows further bolstered sentiment, traders said.
Easing US inflation triggered speculation that the US Federal Reserve might slow down the pace of interest rate hikes.
The 30-share BSE Sensex zoomed 1,181.34 points or 1.95 per cent to settle at 61,795.04. During the day, it witnessed a high of 61,840.97 and a low of 61,311.02.
Likewise, the broader NSE Nifty rallied 321.50 points or 1.78 per cent to finish at 18,349.70.
Among Sensex stocks, HDFC emerged as the lead gainer, rising by 5.84 per cent, followed by HDFC Bank, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, HCL Tech, TCS, Wipro, Tata Steel and Reliance Industries.
On the other hand, M&amp;M, SBI, Kotak Bank, Dr Reddy's, ICICI Bank and NTPC were among the laggards.
In the broader market, the BSE smallcap gauge gained 0.15 per cent and the midcap index rose 0.33 per cent.
Financial markets rallied after the US consumer price index eased to 7.4 per cent in October from 8.2 per cent in September. Markets were on tenterhooks after the US Federal Reserve indicated more interest rate tightening to fight inflation. The current US inflation data points to an early end of the interest rate hike cycle.
In Asian markets, Hong Kong's Hang Seng gained 7.70 per cent while the Nikkei in Tokyo surged 2.98 per cent. In Seoul, the Kospi rose 3.37 per cent. The Shanghai Composite index 1.69 rallied per cent.
Equity exchanges in Europe were also trading in the green in the afternoon session. Stock exchanges in the US ended with significant gains on Thursday.
On the macroeconomic front, Moody's on Friday slashed India's GDP growth projection to 7 per cent for 2022, saying that global slowdown and high domestic interest rates would dampen economic momentum.
The rupee appreciated 62 paise to close at 80.78 (provisional) against the US dollar on Friday.

Nifty trades above 11,750; banks, financials push markets up

Indian equity markets&nbsp;surged in the opening session on Monday amid a huge&nbsp;rally in banking and financial stocks. Strong global cues also supported the domestic markets.
At 9:30 am, the Sensex was 383 points in the green at 39,850 and the Nifty 50 index was at 11,753, up 0.91%.
